TUAT Photo Contest Application Guidelines

Scenes from extracurricular activities, lush campus scenery that reflects the changing seasons...these photographs of everyday campus life capture much of the charm of TUAT.
Please apply with a vision of TUAT.
We also welcome submissions of photos that alumni may have of their own fond memories of their time as students.

1. Purpose

As we celebrate the 150th anniversary of the founding of Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology in 2024, we will use this opportunity to allow many people to see the university's history and current state and to widely spread the appeal of TUAT.

2. Application Period

May 1, 2023 (Monday) - September 29, 2023 (Friday) (must arrive)

3. Eligibility requirements

Only those who meet any of the following criteria are eligible to apply.

  • Students of this university
  • alumni
  • Faculty and Staff
  • Emeritus Professor, retired faculty and staff

4. Work Requirements

There are no restrictions on the type of photography equipment used, and you can take photographs in either monochrome or color, vertical or horizontal orientation.
We are looking for applicants who meet all of the following requirements.

  • The photo must be related to Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology Technology.
  • Photograph taken by the applicant
  • If people are included in the photo, you must have their consent.
  • The image must not have been altered in any way, such as by compositing or distorting it (minor color correction and exposure adjustment are permitted).
  • The same work is not currently being submitted or scheduled to be submitted to other contests, and has not won any prizes in other contests in the past.
  • Not a photo series
  • Does not violate laws, regulations, or public order and morals
  • Not paneled or framed

6. How to Apply

In principle, applications must be submitted via Google Forms.
Please fill out the required information in the form below and attach your photo data.
For printed photographs, please submit scanned data whenever possible.

  • The application form for the "TUAT Photo Contest" (for submitting photo data) is now closed.

If you would like to provide a print of your photograph, please fill out the necessary information in the Google form below and send the print separately by mail. When doing so, please be sure to write the name and contact information (address, phone number, and email address) of the person submitting the photograph on the back.

7. Announcement of the Results

The award ceremony will be held at the Homecoming Day 2023 commemorative ceremony to be held at the Fuchu Campus on Sunday, November 12, 2023.
The submitted works and the results will also be published on the university's official website.

8. Awards

  • President Award (Grand Prize): 30,000 yen and original TUAT novelty goods
  • Alumni President's Award (Excellent Award): 10,000 yen and original TUAT novelty goods
  • TUAT History Award: TUAT original novelty goods
  • Campus Life Award: Original TUAT novelty goods
  • Student University-Promoter Award: Original TUAT novelty goods

9. Notes

  • Entrants' personal information will be used only for the business purposes of this contest.
  • Prizes and rewards are subject to change without notice.
  • We are unable to answer individual inquiries regarding the judging results or winners.
  • Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology will not bear any responsibility for any complaints or objections from third parties regarding submitted works, such as infringement of rights or claims for damages, or for any damage suffered by the applicant or the subject of the work.
  • The copyright of the submitted work belongs to the applicant, but please note that it may be used for planning and public relations purposes for the 150th anniversary of the founding of Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology.
  • Please note that if you do not need to return the printed photographs, they will be stored for three years after the screening and then disposed of.
