Lecture: "Education and research on sericulture at TUAT"

This lecture will explain the changes in the sericulture industry from the Edo period to the present day, and the associated sericulture education and research at TUAT.
- outline of the sericulture industry in the Edo period before and after the opening of the port: The rise of the sericulture industry through the export of silkworm eggs (eggs) and raw silk
- outline of the sericulture industry from the Meiji to Showa periods that supported modernization: Research into the spread of silkworm diseases caused by mass rearing and countermeasures, breeding of silkworms suitable for mass production, and contributions to genetics
- The current sericulture industry and the production of useful materials using silkworms
